The Palace Hotel San Michele is in Monte Sant'Angelo, the city of two UNESCO sites, on the Gargano promontory, where rises the Sanctuary where the Archangel Michele appeared; this place became in the VIII century a pilgrimage destination for a lot of Christian pilgrims and a stop along the Via Francigena, nowadays known as "Via Sacra Longobardorum" that, crossing the Puglia region, leads to the Holy Land.

Declared in June 2011 World Heritage by the "UNESCO", it is then included into the World Heritage List and, in January 2014, the National Geographic Society has declared the Grotto in San Michele Arcangelo one of the most beautiful in the world, above all the Grotta Micaelica, the only italian grotto in the first 10 positions of the best grottos in the world.

Furthermore, Monte Sant'Angelo has numerous places of interest, as the Medieval village of Junno and the Norman-Svevus Castle, close to the Hotel Palace San Michele and the Pulsano Abbey, with its hermitages.

Part of the Umbra Forest extends within the municipality of Monte Sant'Angelo, UNESCO heritage since July 2017, known for its varied flora and fauna, with primary beauties envied from all over the world which, with its ancient beech woods, has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
